Livengood - Austin

HILLSBORO -- Austin Livengood, 88, died at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the home of Effie Bever here. Mr. Livengood, who lived alone, was taken there earlier this week to be cared for by Mrs. Bever. He was born Aug. 17, 1874, south of Hillsboro, a son of Keeling and Amanda Purnell Livengood. He was married Jan. 10, 1900 to Maude Wright. She died Oct. 8, 1961. Mr. and Mrs. Livengood resided on a farm south of here until 1934 when they moved into town and operated a strawberry and truck farm. Mr. Livengood, the last survivor of a large family, was a member of the Prairie Chapel Church here. Funeral services are announced for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Crumley Funeral Home here. Rev. Guy E. Tremaine of Waynetown will officiate. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery here. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday afternoon and evening. - kbz
